Now living in Brooklyn, Denny grew up in a small West Tennessee town. He started shooting at age 15, taking pictures of friends skateboarding, Alaskan landscapes, and specializing in attempts to mimick overdone fine art photography he saw in coffee table books.

While studying at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, Denny obtained a B.A. in Art Media Photography, with a background in advertising and graphic design. During college he began projects on his own photographing portraits of musicians and celebrities as simply a way to meet and document his adolescent heros and favorite personalities.

In the summer of 2000, Denny moved to NYC as his photos of bands took him more and more out of state and into the city. His projects are explorations of personalities, culture, and place and cover a range of genres, including portraits, street photography, the music scene, and landscape.
